MEPS (Micro Extraction by Packed Sorbent )

MEPS makes online SPE for GC and LC sample preparation possible. The MEPS syringe has an SPE mini cartridge built into its needle which allows a fast accumulation of the wished for analyt while considerably less buffer and solvent volume is needed. If MEPS is used on a programmable sampler such as CTC for example, sample preparation can be fully automated and the cleaned-up sample can be directly injected into the chromatography without further handling.

The packing material in the needle can be used for 40 to 100 extractions.
MEPS is suited for LC as well as GC applications.

MEPS can be used with samples as small as 10 µl, it reduces the required sample volume

MEPS can be used fully automated - Sample clean-up, extraction and injection steps are carried out online with the same syringe

MEPS is suited for GC and LC

MEPS can be used for Reversed Phase, Normal Phase, Mixed Mode or Ion Exchange

MEPS is available with common SPE phases

 

What is MEPS?

MEPS consists of two pieces the MEPS syringe and the MEPS Extraction-Needle (BIN).

The BIN contains the SPE phase and is part of the syringe needle.

The BIN can easily be exchanged

How to used MEPS?

1. Pump the sample through the MEPSTM BIN
(one or more volumes may be taken)

2. Wash the MEPSTM BIN once by pumping 20 μL to 50 μL
of wash solution through the BIN to remove interferences

3. Elute the anayte by drawing solvent through the BIN into the
syringe barrel.

4. Inject the analyte directly into the injector. Pump 50 μL solvent followed
by 50 μL wash solution to prepare BIN for the next sample
