In LC and LCMS separations, tailed peak shapes with basic compounds at high concentrations is a problem commonly observed when low ionic strength mobile phases, such as those using formic acid are employed. A way to improve the peak shape and sample load capacity is to use a stationary phase containing a positive charge.
Application examples demonstrating the impact of HALO® positively charged surface (PCS) stationary phases will be presented for small molecules. In addition, the selectivity differences between HALO® PCS C18 and HALO® PCS Phenyl-Hexyl will be highlighted.
