Common headspace screw caps are made from metal. Screwing metal on glass, however, causes much friction. Our screw caps are made from glass-fibre enforced polyamide. They screw smoothly onto our matching headspace vials and require a torque of < 1 Nm only for a pressure-tight seal (common > 8 Nm).
The glass-fibre enforced polyamide screw cap has a magnetic steel ring inserted to allow the use on headspace samplers with magnetic arm.
Design Registration No.: DE 20 2007 008 595.8; Priority Date: 15. June 2007
The advantages:
- pressure-tight seal without strenuous crimping
- cap screws on smoothly as it is made from glass-fibre enforced polyamide
- screw cap may be screwed on manually or mechanically (using 19 hex-nut)
- can be used to a max. of 150° C
The following septum material is available:
- Silicone/PTFE - thickness 3.0 mm - temperature limit 150° C - 40 ± 5° Shore A - clear/white (SKFW)
- Silicone/PTFE - thickness 3.0 mm - temperature limit 150° C - 40 ± 5° Shore A - white/red (SWFR)
- Silicone/PTFE - thickness 3.0 mm - temperature limit 150° C - 40 ± 5° Shore A - blue/grey (SBFZ)
- Silicone/PTFE - thickness 1.6 mm - temperature limit 125° C - 40 ± 5° Shore A - white/red (SWFR)
- Butyl/PTFE - thickness 3.0 mm - temperature limit 125° C - 50 ± 5° Shore A - grey/grey (BZFZ)
