Ground Stopper Pharmacy bottles come with a ground-in glass stopper. This stopper has a standard ground joint (NS), which is conical in shape. For example, an NS 29/32 ground joint means the stopper has a diameter of 29 mm and a height of 32 mm. The taper between the lower and upper diameters follows a 1:10 ratio for all standard sizes. It's impressive how effectively glass seals against glass.
Ground glass stoppers can also be ordered separately.

Decorative Storage Containers for the Kitchen. The robust, thick-walled apothecary bottles with their perfectly tight ground-glass stoppers also make excellent decorative storage containers for the kitchen.
Made from amber glass, they are ideal for storing herbs and spices. A large apothecary bottle with a wide neck can also serve as a storage jar for coffee, or for coffee capsules or pods.
