The new HALO® PCS C18

Better peak shape and higher loading capacity for basic compounds

In LC and LCMS separations, tailed peak shapes with basic compounds at high concentrations is a problem commonly observed when low ionic strength mobile phases, such as those using formic acid are employed. A way to improve the peak shape and sample load capacity is to use a stationary phase containing a positive charge.  The new HALO® PCS line of columns are positively charged surface chemistries which maintain peak symmetry at higher loading capacities and provide alternate selectivities from other  C18 and Phenyl-Hexyl bonded phases.

Built upon proven Fused-Core® technology  and available in both a 90 Å and 160 Å pore size for small molecule and peptide analysis, the columns are optimized to deliver performance for reproducible, high efficiency LC and LCMS separations.

The advantages of the HALO® PCS C18

  • high lot-to-lot reproducibility
  • excellent stability

Your profits when using the HALO® PCS C18

  • Increased sample load with basic compounds in comparison to fully porous C18 columns
  • Higher resolution, improved tailing factor and more plates in comparison to competitors’ SPP C18+ columns
  • Improved peak shape and resolution for peptide in comparison to other C18 phases

Ideal applications:

  • Reversed phase separations of basic analytes prone to peak tailing
  • Separation of beta blockers such as Atenolol, Pindolol, Nadolol, Metoprolol, etc.
  • Fast separation of basic antidepressants such as Nortriptyline, Amitriptyline, Trimipramine, etc,
  • Higher resolution and higher sample load for peptides
  • Peptide mapping
