The organo-silane modified surface of the HALO® Elevate C18 phase has a wide application range of pH 2-12. Thanks to the high pH stability, bases can be analysed uncharged. This avoids secondary interactions, resulting in high peak symmetries. The modification prevents degradation of the silica material when used at high pH and high temperature.

When analysing amitriptyline at a pH value of 10, it was found that the retention only shifted by 1 % after 500 injections (or 20,000 column volumes).
